Friends and family joined together to raise money for Sport Relief
People of all ages met at Springfield Park today (Saturday 20 March 2010) to raise money for sports relief.
The aim of the day was get as many people as possible involved in a good old fashioned ‘Sports Day.’
Despite the inclement weather, a good number turned out for the day of fun; participants enjoyed egg and spoon races, three legged races, wheelbarrow races, obstacle races and more.
The event was hosted by TLF Fitness in Conjunction with Friends of Springfield Park group. Ian Foran of TLF said: “I wanted to do something sporty, obviously because it is all in aid of Sports Relief and I thought an old school sports day would be the perfect thing to do. We had about 40 confirmed places, some people didn’t come because of the bad weather but all those who have are having a brilliant time.
“This is my first event in the spring and hopefully there will be many more to come.
"The Friends of Springfield Park have been a great help in supporting and guiding me.”
80% of the profits raised will go to the Sport Relief Charity.
