Springhill Hospice Lights of Love appeal

Date published: 14 November 2006

Springhill Hospice is inviting individuals and families to take part in the annual ‘Lights of Love’ appeal for those who wish to celebrate the lives of their loved ones at Christmas.

Ian Jenkins, Fundraising Manager for the Hospice, says: “The ‘Lights of Love’ appeal is a perfect way to remember people who are no longer with us as we approach the very time of year that traditionally brings families together.

By making a donation to the Hospice, you can have your dedication placed on one of the Christmas Trees situated around the borough.  These trees will be in the town centres of Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood and on the gallery level of the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre, Rochdale.  There will also be a tree in Heywood Market and two trees at Springhill Hospice.

Mr Jenkins added: “I would like to take this opportunity to request that, if anybody wishes to make a donation and is a UK taxpayer, that they please take advantage of the Gift Aid scheme, which enables the Hospice to claim back from the Inland Revenue 28p for every £1.00 that they donate.”

The Springhill Hospice ‘Lights of Love’ service will take place in the Springhill Suite at the Hospice, Broad Lane, Rochdale on Thursday 14 December commencing at 6.15pm.  During the service there will be a blessing and switch on of the Hospice Tree Lights, after which tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided.
