New free bus service
Date published: 16 March 2010
Shopping, entertainment and restaurants at Pilsworth Retail Park are just a bus ride away thanks to the new free weekend bus service.
The new service which operates on Saturday and Sunday only, starts on 20 March 2010. It travels from Heywood Town Centre to Pilsworth Retail Park and back again, and includes eight stops.
It’s a book only service leaving Heywood Town Centre every two hours from 1pm with the last bus leaving at 9pm.
Preference will always be given to passengers who have pre-booked before passengers who just turn up at any of the stops.
Initially, from 20 March 2010 this will be a free service. However, a small charged might be introduced in the future to maintain the service for an extended period of time based on its popularity.
