We are delighted to inform you that we are holding a Design and Technology Expo on Thursday 11 March 2010 from 3.30pm until 6.30pm in the main school hall (not 4 March as previously advised). It will be an exhibition of GCSE Design and Technology projects produced by our Year 11 students working in Resistant Materials, Textile technology, Graphic Products, Food Technology and Electronic Products. Light refreshments will be served throughout the event and the admission is free. We look forward to seeing you.

Prizes and certificates will be awarded to pupils in Years 7 and 8 who successfully took part in the recent treasure hunt organized by MFL and EAL Faculties, to mark the international mother language day. Prizes and certificates will also be presented in assembly to Year 9 pupils who took part in a quiz for the same event.

There will be a GCSE Drama Moderator in school on Tuesday 9 March from 3.30pm until 6.30pm assessing our students work.

Our Year 8 pupils will be visiting Quarry Bank Mill with Geography, on Friday 12 March.

Advance notice that there will be a GCSE Music exam and concert in school on Monday 15 March from 4.00pm until 6.00pm. Please contact school for more information.

All our Year 11 GCSE drama students thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the recent live performance of “Billy Liar”.

Year 8 enjoyed a fantastic assembly this week. It was 8R’s take on TV talent shows, with a host of celebrities teaching pupils to be positive and encourage others with their comments. Well done 8R!
