Rochdale Online has teamed up with the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre, The Broadfield Park Hotel and The Rochdale & Heywood Independent to search for the very best of local amateur talent.
Whether you are a singer, dancer, comedian, juggler or poet, if you persuade our judges you are the most talented in town you could win a cash prize of £500.
In the first instance you will need to upload a video of your act to YouTube so that you are ready to enter when the competition opens on 15 March. Entries must be in by 15 April. During this period visitors to the Rochdale Online website will be able to see a page dedicated to your act, including your YouTube video embedded in the page for viewing.
After entries close our panel of judges will choose the top twenty acts to go forward to the next round - a showcase in front of a live audience in a marquee at the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May.
Members of the public will then decide which ten acts go through to the grand final at the Broadfield Park Hotel by voting online via the Rochdale Online website from the evening of Saturday 8 May until Friday 14 May.
The top ten in the public vote will then progress to the final to perform in front of a live audience and our panel of judges to decide who is Rochdale's most talented and takes away the £500 cash prize.
If you don't have one already, get your video sorted and uploaded to YouTube ready for the opening date on 15 March.
Judges:
- Dale Mulgrew - Son and agent of comedian Jimmy Cricket
- Colin Meredith - Local Actor with credits such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale to his name
- Lorenzo O'Reilly - Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre Manager
- Richard Catlow - Editor Rochdale & Heywood Independent
Competition entry rules will be published with the competition entry form on the Rochdale Online Competitions page on 15 March.
