We will be holding a three hour dance workshop delivered by a professional dance artist from The Centre for Advance Training for Dance (CAT) on Wednesday 10 March. Participants will include 15 Oulder Hill Year 10 GCSE Dancers and 15 pupils selected from neighboring schools. The aim of the workshop is to develop pupils’ knowledge in dance technique, creative and choreographic development, and give them Information about youth dance activities in the borough, Greater Manchester wide schemes and ways that they can get involved in dance. We feel honored to be asked to host this event by the CAT and feel the training that the participants will receive will be extremely useful to their dance careers.

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight we ran a competition to all Key Stage 3 students to design a poster to promote awareness of Fairtrade issues. We were absolutely delighted with the time and effort our students put in with their designs and because the standard was extremely high the competition was really difficult to judge. However here are the winners and runners-up: In Year 7 the winner was Emma Down and the runner-up was Ella Storto. In Year 8 the winner was Suman Qadir and the runner-up was Shaleen Ahmed. In Year 9 the winner was Abbi Nelson and the runner-up was Aqsa Sarwar. Well done and thank you to everyone.
