Parent / Teacher sessions – Spring term
Dates have now been set for the spring term Parent / teacher meetings. There will be a choice of two afternoons either Monday 1st March or Wednesday 3rd March. This will be an ideal opportunity to speak with the teacher about your child’s progress and targets. Each session will commence at 1.30pm and finish around 4pm. Booking lists will be available in school from Monday 22nd February.
Come and meet our new Family Worker
We are fortunate in having the services of a Family Support Worker. She is available to support and help you with anything relating to family support and welfare. If she cannot help personally then she can help to put you in touch with someone who can ! Some ideas of how she can help:
- preparing for new-born
- parenting skills
- anger management
- managing money and daily routines
- helping your child with keeping up at school even if times are hard at home
- preventing family breakdown
- improving the quality of life for children and young people
- making a child’s home life more stable
- . . . . and many more ! No question for the family worker will sound silly or trivial I assure you
As a starter and a chance for you to meet up there are two opportunities on
Monday 1st March. Tea and Coffee will be available in the school hall from 9am and you are very welcome to call in and have a chat with her even if it is just to say a quick hello so that if you should need any support at a later date you will be a familiar face to her and vice-versa.
Again from 1.30 that same day she will be in the hall during the first of our two Key stage 1 and 2 parent teacher meetings. This opportunity to meet her may be an easier option for you. If neither of these are suitable do not hesitate to ask me or call in at the school office and we can arrange for you to meet up.
School texting facility teachers to parents
Please make sure we have up to two, up-to-date mobile phone numbers as contacts in order that school text messages are received by your selves. I hope that you find this new texting facility helpful. I think it has been invaluable with the emergency school closures in particular. If you have provided us with a mobile number then you should receive official texts from school.
After school Clubs
Our after school clubs are now all back to normal and we have been especially pleased to welcome every week a group of children form Ashfield Valley Primary school who have been joining us for a fun and games club on Tuesday evenings. Congratulations to Ashfield Valley children for excellent participation and behaviour. We look forward to many more joint events.
