Deeplish Primary School

Deeplish Primary School.
Our year 5 children are continuing to enjoy and learn from their visits to “Playing For Success” at Rochdale Football Club on Wednesdays after school. This week was their 4th visit and they made their own computer games!
Year 2 pupils had a great time learning about the Victorian Washday and how it was different to ours. The children were very interested to see the different pieces of equipment used. The behaviour as usual was a credit to the school and themselves – thank you!
The School Council had another of their lively meetings on Thursday. Mr Dysch, Deputy Headteacher, told the Council about plans to encourage more children to have a school lunch instead of a packed lunch or a home dinner. The parents and children are going to be surveyed to find out what food they like and what would make them eat a school lunch. The council have now finished their packed lunch survey and are looking at the results. Amongst other issues raised were ties, as part of the uniform, new library computer and the Talent Show.
Mrs Isherwood’s class assembly told us all about their visits to and from Holy Rosary School in Liverpool. This was very interesting and informative as a lot of the school didn’t know a lot about it. Now they do – thank you, Mrs Isherwood’s class.
Attendance:
- Champions of the week were Mrs Afzal’s and Mrs Clayton/Mr Dysch’s classes
- Champions of the half term were Mrs Afzal’s and Mrs Campbell-Starling’s classes
- Ms Burrow was pleased to announce that the amount of children arriving late for school has fallen
- Key Stage 1, 2 classes had everyone arriving on time all week – these were Mrs Taylor’s and Mrs Afzal’s classes
- Key Stage 2, Mrs Vickers, Mrs Isherwood’s and Mrs Campbell-Starling’s classes had only 1 person arriving late
Well done everyone, keep it up. Shahid and Hamzah won a prize each for 100% attendance.
