Hopwood Hall College Annual Review

Hopwood Hall College held its Annual Review 2008/9 at the Middleton Campus. The occasion offered the opportunity to inform key stakeholders of the college business, including achievements and successes over the past year and, more importantly, future developments, including the investment of new build on the Middleton Campus for Construction and Engineering.

Guests included MPs Jim Dobbin (Middleton & Heywood) and Paul Rowen, (Rochdale), the Mayor and Mayoress Councillor Keith Swift and Ms Sue Etchells, and representatives of educational establishments such as Manchester Metropolitan University and Aimhigher Greater Manchester.

The event was officially opened by Councillor Robert Clegg, Chairman of the Corporation, and there followed presentations from members of the college executive and an overview by the Principal Derek O’Toole. Plus a video showcase of the college, its students and alumni, including Clint Boon XFM DJ and musician, Alison Seagrove, chef and patisserie of Macaroon.

John Hudson, Chief Executive of Rochdale Development Agency remarked: "This was an excellent and very informative event. The personal stories of former students about how their lives were so positively shaped by their time at Hopwood College had a real impact.”
