Man charged after stabbing

A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Castleton.
Michael John Roberts (born 13/02/1984) of Vicarage View, Castleton, is charged with section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared before Rochdale Magistrates' Court on 16 February 2010 and was remanded in custody to appear before Bolton Crown Court on 23 February 2010.
At about 5.15pm on Tuesday 9 February 2010, a 26-year-old man was stabbed on Scholes Street, sustaining a puncture wound to his back.
The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
