British Transport Police would like to speak to these four men about an unprovoked assault
Officers from British Transport Police would like to speak to four men about an unprovoked assault which took place on board a train at Rochdale Railway Station.
Shortly after 10.50pm on Saturday 19 December two couples boarded the Manchester Victoria to Leeds service, with a view to returning to Hebden Bridge following a night out in Manchester.
As the train arrived at Rochdale the couples were assaulted by four men who all left the train at the station.
As a result of the assault the two male victims, aged 35 and 32, received cuts and bruises to the faces whilst the two women, aged 37 and 22, were also hurt but had no visible injuries.
PC Alastair Venables said: “The assault was completely unprovoked and carried out on four people who had been trying to enjoy a night out in the run-up to Christmas.
“It is imperative that we find the men in the CCTV as they may hold vital information in relation to this case.”
If you have any information about the incident – or recognise the men in the pictures – please contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
