Fined for purchasing alcohol for a minor

Date published: 15 February 2010

A 36-year-old woman from Rochdale has been issued with an £80 fine after purchasing alcohol for a minor. A Neighbourhood Policing Team officer and the licensing officer issued the fixed penalty notice after receiving information from the public.

Daisy Edwards, licensing officer for Rochdale Division, said: “The fixed penalty should be a reminder to everyone that they will be punished for such activities and that there are consequences for such actions.

“Anti-social behaviour affects the quality of life for everyone in the community and if this level of disorder is allowed to place and is dubbed acceptable then other forms of anti-social behaviour and crimes will escalate.

“Tackling this problem is fundamental to making this town a safer place for all to live, work and visit.”
