Parents turn their knowledge into practice on dolls
Parents and carers have been getting to grips with first aid for babies as part of a series of vital sessions to enable parents to administer basic first aid and reduce panic should an emergency situation arise.
Advice on basic first aid, CPR and choking are amongst the topics covered in the sessions design especially for parents with babies and very young children.
The sessions, which have included practical tips and demonstrations, gave parents the opportunity to try out some of the techniques they learnt on practice dummies.

Emma Conway of Link4life, who run the course at Meanwood Sure Start Children’s Centre along with Linda Burton, said: “The whole idea has been to promote safety and to give parents the basic knowledge of first aid and help them to feel more relaxed knowing that they can help their children be safe.”
Parent Empowerment Worker, Tracie Taylor said: “This course was a fantastic outcome from a consultation with parents, which resulted in these baby aid sessions. We were inundated with enquiries from parents who were interested in taking part and as a result we now have a waiting list for the next baby aid session.”
