Saint Cuthbert High School
This week’s theme was Good Work and Charities. Our Enterprise capability was Good Teamwork.
Welcome back to our Year 10 pupils who have spent two weeks out of school on work experience placements. The reports from Employers are excellent! We hosted our second Business Breakfast on Friday – thank you to Erica Gott and Elias Ienge for their input. We also had our Year Five Enterprise Day, when we were joined by the Year 5 children from all of our feeder primary schools for a morning of Enterprise activities. Well done to everyone for all your fantastic efforts in being enterprising.
"You have to be in to win" - Well done to form 7.9 whose weekly attendance was 98.2 %. Congratulations also to Rebecca Kelly, form 7.4, our weekly attendance challenge winner. Miss Abbott and Form 7.9 presented the Year 7 assembly about Holocaust Memorial Day. Each form member described how they are different and the year group also celebrated the great diversity in our community.
Congratulations to our year 7 boys’ football team who have progressed to the quarter final of the English National Cup. This a great achievement for St Cuthbert’s as 702 teams throughout the country started the tournament. Good luck boys in the next round.
During Language Week, year 7 form classes are taking part in a "World Basketball Tournament" see Mr Fernandez for more information. All pupils in school will also take part in an activity to celebrate languages on International Mother Language Day.
Our school radio station – Amplify – is now in full swing. Pupils can access the station through our school website and can also listen during lunches and break times in year centres. If anyone else would like to be more involved with Amplify, please see Miss Taylor.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
