Year 11 GCSE Drama students should have returned their letters and money for the forthcoming ‘Billy Liar’ Theatre visit.
Monday night’s Drama Club has been merged with Perky Piranha Theatre Company. This runs every Monday lunchtime in F5 as Ms Bell has had a minor injury. We will return to business as usual when she recovers. Information will be posted on the drama studio door. Please see Mr DeCourcey if you need a dinner pass to participate in the club. All years are welcome.
Monday lunchtime sees Guitar Club run by Mr Dalby and Wednesday lunchtimes sees Songwriting and Composing Club. Please see Mr Dalby or Ms Williams if you would like to get involved. Both clubs are open to all years and although only recently formed,
they seem to be going from strength to strength.
If parents have any old suitcases or bags ready for disposal, then the CEPA office would be grateful for any donations. We are also looking for any Military costumes or clothing. Please see Mr DeCourcey or contact school if you can help us out.
The exhibition at the Central Library in the Wheatsheaf Centre is now running for our ‘Instrumentality’ project. The project, which involved over 16 different primary schools across the borough, combined art and music to great effect. We suggest that you pop to the library to see the products of the process!
We are running a ‘Back To School’ music event in May and we are looking for parents, grandparents and close friends to get involved. It is hoped that families will be able to find out what music is like as a subject in the 21st century and better support their children with music homework. Please contact Mr DeCourcey or Ms Williams if you would like to find out more.
Many thanks to all the pupils who successfully took part in our Year 8 Puzzle Day on Tuesday this week. Pupils from across the year took part in a range of difficult mental puzzles and challenges. Thanks go to Ms Sapsford for her organisation of the event.
Well done to 8F for their excellent short film in assembly this week. The recorded drama explored ‘A Very brief History of the Arts’ and proved a great success with the Year 8 audience! The film featured prehistoric people, a cave bear, 18th century ladies and 2 Edwardian children, not to mention a whole host of other characters and children! Popcorn was handed out to the audience too! Congratulations to all involved.
Year 11 Parents Evening is on Tuesday 9 February from 3.15pm to 6.15pm. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting so that you can discuss the final stretch of studying your child will be doing with the relevant teachers. It is very important you know exactly what your child is doing now so that you can help them towards the end of their Year 11 work.
And finally, Year 11 BTEC dance students will be assessed and internally moderated for their current dance unit on Monday 8 February during lessons 2 and 3. Please bring your dance kit and good luck!
