St Cuthbert’s R.C. Business & Enterprise College
This week’s theme was My Parish and the enterprise capability was Can-Do Approach.
It was great to work with the children from St Patrick’s RC Primary School again on Wednesday as they learned how to market their school in an advertisement for radio. The work they produced was absolutely fantastic! We look forward to seeing you in the summer term for your film session.
Congratulations to Reece Dunne, form 9.5, who has received a letter from Her Majesty the Queen in response to his letter regarding the work his class did about Remembrance Day.
Well done to Mr Lockett and form 7.5 with a weekly attendance figure of 98.8%. This week’s Attendance Challenge winner is Emma Chappell, form 7.8 - "You have to be in to win".
Lucy Lucketti, form 7.6, has been selected for the Rochdale Town Team under 13 netball squad. She will travel to Wright Robinson High School in March to take part in the Champions Challenge where the team will compete against other boroughs in the Greater Manchester area. This is an excellent achievement for Lucy as she is currently only an under 12 player.
Homework club is available each lunch time at 1.30pm in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton.
Please could we remind all pupils that mobile phones are not allowed in school. Pastoral Managers will contact parents on a child’s behalf if necessary.
A reminder to all year 7 pupils that late detentions and smart card detentions will now be served after school in line with all year groups.
Would any parent collecting a child during the school day please report to reception where pupils will wait. Due to health and safety reasons, pupils must not wait at the gate to be collected. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Our school radio station – Amplify – is now in full swing. Pupils can access the station through our school website and can also listen during lunches and break times in year centres. If anyone else would like to be more involved with Amplify, please see Miss Taylor.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
