Heywood Festival of Healing, Light and Learning

Date published: 30 January 2010

The annual Heywood Festival of Healing, Light and Learning has taken place this weekend at Heywood Civic Centre.

The festival, now in its 14th year, included stalls, therapies, private readings, workshops and on stage entertainment.

Stall holders travelled from far and wide to take part in the festival – there was certainly something for everyone, such as jewellery, greetings cards, antiques, new-age music, crystals and a beautiful array of silk garments.

Private readings were also available, including: past life readings, tarot readings and clairvoyance.

For those people who didn’t just want to browse the stalls there was also an opportunity for hands on therapies, such as reflexology and Indian head massages.

Event organiser, Sheila Hill was very pleased with the turnout, she said: “Everybody seems to be happy; there are a lot of unusual stalls here. The festival is fun and it isn’t something you would see every day.”

Joan Evans, from the Full Spectrum stall has been coming to the festival for 6 years, she said: “Events like this are dying out so it is really good to come to the festival every year – it is also very well organised.”

The event was organised by the Heywood Christian Spiritualist Church and all proceeds will be put towards the building of the Holistic Pathways Centre.
