New healthcare domiciliary service
Date published: 27 January 2010
A new healthcare domiciliary service is to be established in Rochdale – allowing people in the area living with complex needs to remain in their own homes. The new service will be launched on Monday 22 February.
The social care service is designed to give people independence and choice in how they live and to allow them to stay with their family and friends. Trained staff will offer tailored care packages to people with a variety of different needs.
Rochdale Council selected Sue Ryder Care – Homecare as a preferred provider alongside other providers following a competitive tendering process. Sue Ryder has acquired an office to run the service from in central Rochdale.
Sue Ryder Care – Homecare, which was established eleven years ago, works in partnership with other agencies, including Social Services and District Nurses, to ensure all of people’s changing needs are catered for.
Staff can provide personal care and help with daily tasks including dressing, washing, preparing meals, supervising medication, doing laundry and shopping.
Bronwyn Burgess, Homecare Manager at Sue Ryder Care, said: “We are very pleased to extend our Homecare service into Rochdale. People want to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible and Sue Ryder Care helps make this possible. We are committed to building partnerships that support the people in our care with local health and social care services, the communities in which we operate and with our commissioners”.
