Beech House School

The School had two teams in the zonal final of the public speaking competition ‘Youth Speak’. Beech House were kindly sponsored by Chadderton and Failsworth Rotary Club. The Intermediate team of Lydia Nightingale, Jessica Timperley spoke on ‘The Views of Young People in Scociety’. They were very proud to be announced winners of their event. Jack Noon, Jason Scales and Aleem Tahir were the school representatives in the Senior section. They spoke on ‘Empowering & Encouraging Young Enterprise’ and were runners up in their section. Both teams go through to the Regional Final on Sunday 7 March at Forest Hill Hotel, Frodsham.
Mr Rigby from the DSA spoke to Year 11 about driving safety. He told the pupils about picking the right driving instructor and how the drivers are graded. He then walked us through a real theory test and answered the myths that surround the modern day driving test. The pupils responded well and took the information seriously and feel more confident about their car related future.
Tuesday 2 February will be Years 4 and 11 Parents Evening. All parents should have received their appointment slips. On 3 February the ISA North of England Junior Cross Country event will be held at Cheadle Hulme. Thursday 4 February is the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. On Sunday 6 February the ISA National Gymnastics Final will take place in Stoke.
