Recycle your real Christmas Tree

Date published: 14 December 2006

Rochdale Council are repeating the hugely successful Christmas Tree recycling scheme that last year saw over 1700 trees diverted from going into landfill.

To encourage residents to recycle their tree a network of 17 sites across the borough will be open from Thursday 4 January until Monday 22 January 2007.

Talking about the scheme, Andy Shaw Recycling Officer at RMBC said: “Thanks to efforts of residents we are currently recycling 18% of our rubbish. By recycling their Christmas Trees residents are not only helping keep their local area clean but also helping the council to achieve its recycling targets.”
