What a busy week our Nursery children have had! Firstly, they visited Sunny Brow Nursery in Middleton as part of our Community Cohesion Project and had a great time playing with and getting to know the other children. Another visit is planned for the future to take full advantage of their outdoor facilities. Secondly, as part of their food project, they went on a walk around the local area looking at all the different places food was sold. Thank you to Worldwide Cash and Carry.
Our Study Support Sessions at Rochdale Football Club began this week. 15 year 5 children went on Wednesday night after school and were shown different things that can be done on a computer supporting literacy and numeracy. They had so much fun and enjoyed the first of their 10 sessions.
It was a long day for Years 3 and 4 on Thursday when they went to Hebden Bridge as part of their villages topic. They caught the train from Rochdale, bought things from Hebden Bridge market, experienced a plate painting session at 'Flying Saucers', looked at the canal boats, visited a sweet shop and let off steam in a lovely play area near the train station before very tiredly catching the train home. The children, as usual, were a credit to the school and their families. Well done!
Our after school cheerleading sessions began on Thursday and 10 children from years 3, 4 and 5 had a great time listening to the music and waving the pompoms!
Congratulations Mrs Doolan on being appointed as permanent kitchen supervisor. Welcome to the team!
Attendance was very high across the Key Stages this week. Mrs Afzal’s class won in Key Stage 1 and Mrs Vickers’ class just ran out the winners in Key Stage 2. Early Birds were Mrs Akhtar’s class and again Mrs Vicker’s class. Well done to Momina and Haaris for winning a prize in the 100% attendance draw. Who will it be next week?
