15-year-old boy hurt in collision

A 15-year-old boy is in hospital after he was involved in a fail-to-stop road collision last night, Sunday 24 January 2010.
At about 7.05pm, the boy was walking with friends along Rochdale Road East, (A58), Heywood.
A black Ford Focus then collided with the boy. The car then drove off.
He suffered a broken arm and serious cuts which are not believed to be life threatening. He remains in Rochdale Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The car was later found abandoned and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
