Leave out your uncollected bin, says council
Date published: 22 January 2010
Rochdale Council is asking residents to leave out their uncollected bins until they have been collected.
The Council is still catching up with collecting the backlog of waste left by the recent cold snap.
Residents across Rochdale, Littleborough, Milnrow, Newhey and nearby areas who didn't have their bins collected yesterday (Thursday 21 January) and today should expect to get a collection this weekend.
John Patterson, executive director at Rochdale Council, said: “We are making every attempt to get the waste and recycling collection service back to normal as quickly as possible following the severe snow and ice conditions. The conditions and the large volume of waste that has built up as a consequence has slowed down the waste collections service considerably – which has meant collections are likely to be made later in the day than normal or even delayed until the next day.
“On behalf of the council I’d like to thank all residents for their co-operation and understanding of this matter.”
