A ‘warm’ welcome back to all our families! Firstly apologies for the disruption caused by icy weather and, as if that was not enough, the unfortunate power outage which forced school closure on Tuesday 12 January. We look forward to a better year ahead than the start would indicate and once again thankyou for your patience.
We do hope that the fact that many of the children could work from home through using the school learning platform was of benefit.
School texting facility teachers to parents
Please make sure we have up to two, up-to-date mobile phone numbers as contacts in order that school text messages are received by yourselves. We hope that you find this new texting facility helpful. We think it has been invaluable with the emergency school closures in particular. If you have provided us with a mobile number then you should receive official texts from school.
Sacramental Programme
All of the children who are on the Sacramental Programme should attend the 5.30pm Mass at St Johns RC church on Saturday (23 January). Many thanks.
Haiti appeal
Many thanks for your generosity to the Haiti appeal fund which we held last week at school. The children enjoyed the raffle and the cake sale. We will let you know how much was raised as soon as possible and many thanks once again.
Parent questionnaire results
Your responses have now been collated and we will send out early next week the outcomes from the parents’ survey. Your views will all be considered and fed back into school development.
Golden Book and Behaviour award
The best behaviour award went to Class 5, especially for their exemplary behaviour when they visited St Cuthbert’s RC College for a morning of ‘enterprising’ activity. Also thankyou to St Cuthbert’s staff for hosting the event.
