Join the festive fun at Hollingworth Lake

Date published: 19 December 2006

There will be festive activities for everyone at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre in Littleborough this Christmas.

On Boxing Day, come along to the centre and join the staff for a seasonal glass of punch and a tasty mince pie, served from 11am onwards.

Then on New Year's Day, why not join Rae Street and the Countryside Rangers for a walk around the country park and surrounding areas. The walk begins from the visitor centre at 11.30am.

On the same day, centre staff are inviting visitors to tell them, in less than 50 words, what they think should be the New Year Resolutions for Hollingworth Lake Country Park. There will be a prize for the best suggestion, which could even be put into practice to improve service for visitors in 2007.

Throughout the Christmas period, visitors of all ages are invited to follow a self-guided trail with a Christmas theme around the country park. Further details are available from the visitor centre on Rakewood Road.

The Visitor Centre will be open throughout the holidays and will only close on Christmas Day. Winter opening hours are 10.30am - 5pm weekends and 11am - 4pm weekdays.

For further details on any of these events contact the Rangers on 01706 373421.
