Man hospitalised in Middleton crash

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after his car careered off a Middleton road and plunged ten feet into a field below.
The accident happened on Hollin Lane about 400 metres south of junction 19 of the M62 at about 2am on Friday (15 January).
The man, 22, was driving his Ford Focus on Hollin Lane when it left the carriageway, collided with railings and overturned onto its roof in a field 10 feet below the road.
The driver was been taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital where he remains with serious head and face injuries.
Police are appealing to anyone who has information about the accident to call the Area Three Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 8473.
