Deeplish Primary School

Deeplish Primary School.
Snow and ice played a big part, yet again, in Deeplish School life. However, everyone made great efforts to get in to school and we managed to get along without too much disruption. Unfortunately, the icy playground and field meant that it was not safe to play out so children and staff were indoors all the time. Children coped really well, well done!
The School Council held a quickly arranged meeting which turned out to be one of the best ever. The interviews for “Investors In Pupils” are well on the way now. Thank you to Hamzah for organising them. The council decided that their project this term would be Healthy Packed Lunchboxes and some observations are being planned. The results will be 'fed' back to children and parents together with a 'Healthy Packed Lunch' leaflet from the Healthy Schools Programme. We are looking forward to seeing 'what’s in the boxes'!
Kye White, from the Cardinal Langley Sports Partnership, came in to school to identify 10 children from Year 6 who are gifted and talented at sport. They had a wonderful, energetic time taking part in a variety of agility and P.E. activities.
Class attendance trophies went to Mrs Afzal’s and Mrs Campbell-Starling’s classes. Attendance across the Key Stages was excellent despite the weather. Mrs Afzal’s class achieved 100%! Early Bird Awards went to Mrs Afzal’s and Mrs Clayton/Mr Dysch’s classes. Huzeyfah and Zara won the weekly 100% attendance draw and each received a prize. Keep it up everyone!
