Bus service update - Friday 15 January

Date published: 15 January 2010

As weather conditions across the borough start to improve, GMPTE is advising passengers to continue to check travel services before setting out on their journeys.

Now that snow is thawing, the majority of bus services are operating normally.

However, some minor and side roads are still affected by ice and are not accessible by buses, so a small number of services are still subject to disruption.

Delays may also be experienced during the morning and early afternoon in the Rochdale, Oldham and Heywood areas due to a major incident and subsequent road closures on the A627(M).

Known changes to bus services:

6 - Rochdale - Kirkholt, this service will operate to The Strand at Kirkholt.

451 - Rochdale - Peppermint Bridge, this service is currently operating a circular route from Rochdale via Milnrow, Peppermint Bridge, Bentgate, Sycamore Avenue, Milnrow , Hursted Road, Bridge Street and return to Rochdale. The service is still unable to serve Two Bridges Road.

434 - Omitting Turf Hill & Kirkholt operating directly along Kingsway and Queensway

440 - Operating to and from Syke Chapel via evening route, omitting the estate roads

446 - Omitting Paton Street, Thrum Hall Lane & Shawclough Way operating as evening service

466 route through Shawclough. Omitting Westgate at Wallbank, running directly along Wallbank Drive in both directions.
