Soldiers from the Second Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers paraded through Rochdale town centre in November.
At the end of November last year, the Second Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers marched through Rochdale as a magnificent turnout celebrated their homecoming from Afghanistan.
The lads on parade went away proud of their link with Rochdale on what was a proud day for the town with thousands turning out to pay tribute to the young soldiers.
During the parade a collection was taken for the Fusilier Aid Society, which helps the families of deceased Fusiliers and the rehabilitation of the wounded, and a total of £1,800 was raised.
Lt Col Mike Glover, the Area Secretary for the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in Lancashire, said: “It was a marvellous day and the people of Rochdale were extremely generous. On behalf of the Fusilier family I would like to say thank you to all who contributed to the collection and all who turned out to support the parade.”
