Recycling centre open for business
Date published: 12 January 2010
Local recycling centres have stayed open during the big freeze with only minimal disruptions to the service.
Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority has set up a dedicated website at www.recycleforgreatermanchester.com/our-waste-solution/facilities which is updated on a daily basis to give residents the latest information. There is also a hotline on 0161 770 1700.
Councillor Swannick, chairman of GMWDA, said: “We are working very hard with waste contractors Viridor Laing to allow residents to take recyclables and waste to their nearest HWRC.
“We are urging people to check the Recycle for Greater Manchester website for the most up to date information.”
