Snow holiday is over for pupils
Date published: 11 January 2010
Thousands of Rochdale pupils were back in the classroom today after the big freeze caused more than 70 schools to close last week.
Whittaker Moss Primary is closed today while Balderstone Technology College is only open to years 9, 10 and 11 and Middleton Technology School is closing at 2.30pm.
For pupils at Rochdale's remaining schools, it was business as usual.
More than 70 schools were closed when the worst of the weather hit last week.
More schools opened as the week progressed, and as temperatures rose above freezing today and the predicted white weekend failed to materialise, the vast majority took the decision to open.
Rochdale Council’s website, www.rochdale.gov.uk has regular updates on which schools are closed, and parents and carers are advised keep a check on it.
