Rochdale man jailed over Baxenden burglary
Date published: 11 January 2010
A Rochdale man has been jailed after he raided the home of a new mother in Baxenden just hours after she had returned home with her new-born baby.
Barry Gibbons, 21, of Bishop Street, had been in Baxenden looking to steal alloy wheels from cars when one of his two accomplices started trying door handles on nearby homes. The three men entered the victim's home and stole items of electrical equipment.
Gibbons, who is already serving five months in jail, admitted burglary in relation to the incident in January 2009 and will serve another 15 months in prison.
