Help trace the Falkland’s HMS Argonaut Stokers

Date published: 08 January 2010

HMS Argonaut Stokers who served during the Falklands War will be re-united in May to remember their former shipmates and pay tribute to the bravery shown by those who served.

Members of the HMS Argonaut Association are still trying to trace some of the Argonaut Stokers who served during the conflict in 1982 and some are believed to be from the North West.

They are looking for Rochdale-based Kevin Sanderson, who was 24 when he served on the Leander-class frigate Royal Navy ship, and Ian Keates, who lived in Clitheroe.

The Argonaut Association was originally set-up by ex-crew members and has members from all around the world. The first re-union took place in Portsmouth in 1984 and the Association provides a link for former shipmates to keep in touch.

This year’s re-union will take place at the Astor Hotel in Plymouth on 22 May, starting at 8pm.
