Take a dive to boost hospice funds

Date published: 08 January 2010

Join Rochdale Online reporter Laura Wild in helping Springhill Hospice to raise much needed funds. The Hospice is looking for adventurous volunteers to make a fundraising parachute jump and any daredevils that raise enough in sponsorship will get to jump for free.

The Hospice has teamed up with international events specialists Skyline and have 20 places reserved with the famous Black Knights Parachute Team.

Intrepid participants will take part in a ‘Tandem Skydive’ from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor and travelling at 120mph.

"If you have ever wanted to experience a parachute jump here is your chance," said Hospice fundraising officer Ian Jenkins.

The jump will take place at Lancaster Airfield on Sunday 21 March. No experience is necessary as all training is given and if you raise more than the minimum sponsorship of £395 you will receive your jump for free.

If you would like to make a thrilling skydive from 10,000 feet contact Springhill Hospice Fundraising Office on 01706 649920, or email ian.jenkins@springhillhospice.nhs.uk, for a full information pack.

Visit the everydayhero event page for the Hospice's online sponsorship page and to register for the dive.
