British Transport Police are searching for witnesses after a man was found dead at Rochdale Station in December.
The man, who is believed to be 46 and from Rochdale, was found inside a telephone box at the entrance to the station shortly after 8.30pm on Tuesday, 22 December.
A second man, also in his 40s, was found unconscious outside the box and was taken to Rochdale Royal Infirmary.
Detectives from BTP are still working to determine the cause of death although it is believed the men may have taken drugs prior to being discovered by a member of the public.
Detective Inspector Andrea Rainey said: “We are treating the death as unexplained at this stage and are currently working to piece together the hours and minutes prior to the man’s death.
“I am interested to hear from anyone who saw the men either at the station or before they arrived.
“I am particularly keen to speak to a member of the public who was seen to use the public payphone next to the telephone kiosk in which the two men were found sometime between 7.30 and 8.30pm.”
She added: “We are determined to discover what happened to the men and I urge anyone with information to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls please quote incident 466 of 22/12/09.”
