Car firms invest in apprentices
Date published: 06 January 2010
Rochdale based car dealerships Mitsubishi and Suzuki have invested in two local apprentices to work for their companies.
Kealey Atkinson and Chloe Doolan have recently undertaken a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration with the dealerships, which is assessed and verified by Hopwood Hall College. The company has employed the two apprentices through Orchard Training Solutions, the Employer Engagement Arm of Hopwood Hall College.
Previously unemployed, the two now work four days a week with the company and study one day at College.
Ms Atkinson, of Buxton Crescent, said: “This is a great opportunity to gain employment, access training and get paid. I enjoy coming to work and dealing with the public every day. The College environment is fun with clear structure and direction. The tutors are helpful and very friendly."
Ms Doolan, of Leach Street, who is based at Suzuki, said: “I’m looking forward to developing my skills through employment and the Modern Apprenticeship."
Employer Imi Ahmed commented: “Both Kealey and Chloe are real assets to the business. The future will see exceptional personal development and a fruitful career for both. The support from Orchard Training Solutions and Hopwood Hall College has been fantastic. They successfully sourced and delivered very high calibre people for our team. If interested in recruiting an apprentice I would highly recommend them. They will bring people to you – taking all the stress and expense away."
