School closures and public transport information

Two Rochdale schools are closed today (Monday 4 January) due to the freezing temperatures.

Heating failure has forced St John Fisher primary school in Middleton and St James CE primary school in Wardle to extend their Christmas holidays.

Belfield Community Primary School will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 5 January).

Local bus services are also being affected by the severe weather.

Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive says that while most bus services are operating, several are subject to delays and some have been revised or suspended as a result of icy road conditions.

Passengers are advised to take the conditions and the service changes into account when planning a journey.

184 - short journeys from Manchester to Diggle are terminating at The Navigation and omitting Dobcross and Diggle. Through journeys to Huddersfield are operating via Stanage and also omitting Dobcross and Diggle.

188 - serving main roads only

237 - journeys operating via 236 route and omitting Hadfield

239 - service suspended

341 - service suspended

342/4 - services suspended

343 - service suspended

353 - reinstated between Ashton and Denshaw only

354 - service operating between Ashton and Uppermill only

390 - service suspended

410/1 - services omitting Waterloo Street, New Earth Street and Cobden Street

425 - the service is operating around the Holts estate in the opposite direction to normal due to the road conditions
