Man stabbed during robbery
Date published: 04 January 2010
Police are hunting three robbers who stabbed a man with a kitchen knife and stole cash from his home.
The 28-year-old victim was in his home on Stamford Street on 20 December 2009 when the men burst in through his front door at 8.40pm.
He sustained three stab wounds to his head and body and was treated at Rochdale Infirmary.
The three offenders have been described as Asian and in their 20s.
Detective constable Russ Clarke, of Rochdale CID, said: "This must have been scary for the victim, however I want to reassure people that attacks in people's homes like this are rare.
"We have a team of detectives working to trace the offenders but we also need the public's help with this. Did you see people acting suspiciously in this area? If so, get in touch."
Anyone with information can contact Rochdale CID on 0161 856 4622 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
