Date published: 02 January 2010
It’s a new year, for many that means a new start, a time for a new year resolution – or to fulfil last year’s.
Of course sticking to the resolution is something different all together. Rochdale Online reporter Laura Wild has compiled a list of the top ten resolutions for 2010.
1. Join the gym – this may the top of the list for many after all that turkey and chocolate, if you’re serious get in a routine straight away.
2. Give up smoking - save money, improve your health, stay warm inside clubs and bars... this is a few resolutions in one.
3. Get out of debt - was money a big source of stress in your life last year? This year may be the time to sort that out; it’s a promise that will repay itself many times over in the year ahead.
4. Learn a new skill - no matter what the skill, there is always time to learn something new.
5. Visit somewhere new – take the plunge to see that place you have always dreamed of, you only live once
6. Enjoy life, live it to the full - reach for the stars? Everything in your life can be great; it’s what you make it.
7. Be more organised - whether at home or at work being organised can make the simplest things easier.
8. Improve career/education – take the next step in 2010 to improve your work life, take the next step on the ladder.
9. Spend more time with friends and family - make plans to meet up with friends and family, work doesn’t always have to come first.
10. Eat better and drink less alcohol – after all the food in the festive period it may be time to ease off the selection boxes and the beer, for a few weeks at least!
