Date published: 18 December 2009
A man has been robbed of his car at knifepoint whilst delivering newspapers in Middleton.
The robbery happened on Hollin Lane at about 1pm on Monday 30 November.
The victim, 35, was delivering newspapers and parked outside a house on Hollin Lane when he was confronted by a man brandishing a knife who demanded the keys to his car.
After a short struggle, the victim dropped his keys and the thief stole them and drove off towards Heywood Lane in the victim's blue Ford Focus, registration number WN05 KFD.
The thief is described as being white, 5ft 2in to 5ft 4in tall, about 20-25-years-old with light coloured hair and wearing a dark jacket, light coloured sports trousers and black trainers.
Shazia Maqsood, from the Volume Crime Team at Rochdale Police Station, said: "This robbery happened in broad daylight, so there may be witnesses who either saw what happened or saw a blue Ford Focus being driven at speed or erratically in the area at about the time of the incident.
"If do you have information, please come forward as your information could be vital to finding the offender and putting him behind bars."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 8632 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
