Helping hand for neighbours
Date published: 17 December 2009
A representative from 'Spotlight on Falinge' attended Howard Street Children’s Centre yesterday (Wednesday 16 December) to officially accept a cheque for £50 raised by the parent’s forum, known as 'Hands On at Howard Street'.
Parents from Howard Street Children’s Centre raised £50 from a toy sale and are donating the money to 'Spotlight on Falinge' to go towards their community resource centre, which will soon be opening in a refurbished building behind Dunelm.
One parent said: “We are delighted to support another community venue in Falinge. It will give people from the Falinge area a safe place to go, a place to meet new people, try different courses and skills and enjoy time together. We as parents are grateful for the sessions provided at the Children’s Centre. We are keen to see other people have a reason to come out of their homes and join in community life.”
