'Baby Life Check' launched in Middleton

Date published: 16 December 2009

A ‘Baby Life Check’ has been launched in Middleton for parents with babies aged 5-8 months.

The check is an online assessment devised by the NHS and allows parents to answer a series of multiple choice questions which leads them to personalised advice and tips of how to look after their baby.

Recent national research has shown that parents have the most questions about their babies from the 5 month stage.

Jo Morris Parent Empowerment Worker for Hollin Sure Start Children’s Centre said: “This great service offers support for parents of five to eight month old babies at a key time in their development and when their aren’t necessarily scheduled home visits from health professionals.

“By guiding parents through some simple questions, we can then offer advice and reassurance on making the best decisions for their child without being judgemental. Rochdale Children’s Centres offer a wide range of sessions and support services for families with children from birth to 5 years. We would welcome anyone who wants advice, to talk to other parents or just a fun session to join in with their children.”

The on screen questionnaire is a national campaign, but has been launched in children’s centres across Rochdale this week.
