Robber takes van
Date published: 14 December 2009
A man was robbed of his van near a bus stop in Littleborough.
Shortly after 1.15pm on Thursday (10 December), the victim was standing near a bus stop on Todmorden Road when a man came up to him from behind and shoved a weapon into his back and demanded the keys to his van.
Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over the keys and the robber drove off. The man then tried to stop the robber and narrowly avoided being struck by his own van.
The vehicle was abandoned a short time later on Dearden Street, Littleborough.
The offender is described as being a white man, 5ft 8ins tall, aged between 25 and 30, of slim build with short dark hair.
Police are appealing for witnesses or for anyone with any information to contact them on 0161 856 8632 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
