Deeplish Primary School

Deeplish Primary School.
What a lovely start to the week! All the school were invited into the hall to watch a great production of Dick Whittington by Funhouse Theatre. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all.
'Cheese' was the most used word on Tuesday when Jon Hunt Photography came in to take individual and family photos. There will be some very proud family members looking at the photos when they arrive in school.
The Family Learning Service organised a trip for some of our Nursery children and their parents. An exciting day was had by all at Eureka, an interactive hands-on museum in Halifax.
The School Council organised and led their own meeting this week. This is the first time ever that a Deeplish School council have been able to do this. They have only been in place for just over three months and have really worked hard to get to this stage. Well done! Ms Burrow congratulated them during Friday’s achievement assembly.
West Indian and African music and dance was the name of the game on Thursday when Border Moves came in to school to work with Key Stage 2 children. Clive and Helen worked really hard and a production of their efforts was given to the whole school in the afternoon. The children had a great time learning the different rhythms and dance moves.
Attendance Champions of the week were Miss Butterworth’s and Mrs Clayton/Mr Dysch’s classes. Early Bird Awards went to Mrs Afzal’s and Mrs Roberts' classes. Sana and Zeeshan won a prize each in the end of week draw for those children having 100% attendance. Well done!
School will close for two weeks on Friday for the Christmas holidays. Have a lovely time everyone and see you all on 5 January 2010.
