Scope celebrates Christmas in style

The Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale joined with members of the Rochdale and District Scope group for their Christmas party today (Saturday 12 December).
The party took place at the Ronald Gorton Centre with the fun beginning at 3pm, including entertainment from the winner of Middleton’s Got Talent, Denva Kunyo.
Rochdale and District Scope has seventy members with Cerebral Palsy, Bertha Higginbottom is the Chairwoman, she said: “We have had a really great day; it is nice to see more children here.”
Scope Secretary, Lynne Neild, said: “Today is really worthwhile for the members; some of them don’t get out a lot so it is nice to bring everybody together here.”
The Christmas party is an annual event for the group.
Rochdale and District Scope is affiliated to National Scope and works for local people with any form of cerebral palsy.
The aim is to provide them with choice, flexibility and equality, to have the same human and civil rights as everyone else.
