Residents of Rochdale's Regenda housing scheme received a visit from Nikki Patel, who plays Amber Kalirai in Coronation Street - Dev’s daughter, and Marcquelle Ward, who played Mitch, Amber’s boyfriend, earlier this week.
The pair were at the Wardleworth Community Centre to launch the first of the Regenda Group’s Residents Reunited events.
Ms Patel and Mr Ward chatted to residents, signed autographs and posed for photos.
Andy Carberry, Head of Business Excellence at the Regenda Housing Group, who spearheaded the Residents Reunited campaign, said: “The aim of the Regenda Residents Reunited customer consultation event is for us to ‘reunite’ with as many of our residents as possible - so we can get to know them better and check the information we have about them is up to date. This is the first of many Regenda Residents Reunited events that will be coming out to our neighbourhoods in 2010.”
Regenda staff from all areas of the organisation were mobilised to spend a day in the Rochdale neighbourhood and over 120 homes were called on during the day. Hundreds of residents were asked to complete a short survey, to check that the services Regenda provide are delivered in ways that meet their requirements. Additional information was also handed out to residents to signpost them to useful local services.
