82-year-old lady mugged in Heywood

Police in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses after an elderly lady was robbed in Heywood on Monday 29 January.
The 82-year-old from the Heywood area was walking along West Starkey Street at 11.30pm when a man approached her from behind and dragged her to the floor. He grabbed her handbag and ran off in the direction of Cedar Avenue.
The victim suffered a broken arm and broken thumb from the fall and was taken to Fairfield General Hospital. She has been left extremely shaken by the incident.
The offender is described as white, 16-18-years-old, 5ft 2in, of slim build. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, possibly with a hood, blue jeans and white trainers.
