Colin Maddison from ‘Natural England’ spoke to our Year 7 pupils in assembly on Friday. Pupils received free maps and a talk by MP Paul Rowen regarding his experience of using OS maps.
Our Year Eleven students, who are studying ‘Of Mice and Men’ for their literature exam, watched a performance of the play in school on Wednesday.
Various year group and whole school activities and clubs are available at lunchtime. Please see notices around school for more information. Year 7 Homework club is open every lunch time in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton. Year 10 & 11 English Coursework Catch Up is available every Thursday at 3.15 in J10.
Children from our feeder primary schools watched a performance of Bugsy Mallone in the school hall on Tuesday. It was wonderful, as always, to see so many of our prospective students visiting school.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
Would any parent collecting a child during the school day please report to reception where pupils will wait. Due to health and safety reasons, pupils must not wait at the gate to be collected. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Under 14’s A team beat Oulder Hill 2-0
Under 14’s A team beat Balderstone 2-0
Under 14’s B team drew 0-0 with Wardle
Under 14’s B team lost 1-0 to Matthew Moss
Boys Football
Under 12’s beat Dronfield Henry Fanshawe school 2-0 in the English National Schools competition after a penalty save from Jonathan Diba and goals from Mitchell Ellor and Lewis Helm – they are now through to the last 32 in the country and face South Hunsley High School, East Ridings in the next round.
The Under 14’s face Cardinal Heanan in the last 64 of the English Schools on Thursday this week.
