Know when to put your bins out this Christmas
Date published: 02 December 2009
Residents will need to put their bins out on different days from those that they are used to over Christmas and New Year.
As part of the Council’s mission to get the new dates to every household, information will be included in its latest recycling leaflet about glass and cans – which will go out to every household in the borough before Christmas.
The dates are also listed on refuse and recycling collection calendars distributed to every home earlier in the year.
Councillor Irene Davidson, cabinet member for environment and sustainability, said: “As usual, our bin collection service will change over the Christmas and New Year period.
“We recognise people get into a routine and don’t look at their refuse and recycling calendars every week. That’s why we’re working hard to ensure every household in the borough is reminded of these changes and people aren’t left with uncollected bins.”
