All year 7 form groups have been asked to donate food products in order to make up hampers. The hampers will be delivered to the charity Walker House before Christmas.

"You have to be in to win" - Well done to Matthew Chrimes form 7.8, the weekly attendance challenge winner. Congratulations also to form 7.7 with the best weekly attendance of 98.6%. Remember to collect your merit marks from your form tutor.

A ‘very well done’ to Miss Walsh and all of form 7.1 for their excellent presentation at assembly on peer pressure.

Various year group and whole school activities and clubs are available at lunchtime. Please see notices around school for more information. Year 7 Homework club is open every lunch time in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton. Year 10 & 11 English Coursework Catch Up is available every Thursday at 3.15 in J10.

Pupils’ ‘attitude to learning’ is being recorded by all subject teachers this week. This information informs parents of their children’s attitude in the classroom which affects their rate of progress. This information will be sent to parents before the Christmas break. Voting for Student Council representatives took place on Tuesday – the first meeting of the new Student Council will take place before Christmas.

Bugsy Malone rehearsals are in full swing. For the last three weeks pupils have been rehearsing every Wednesday from 6.30-8.30. Dress rehearsal is on Sunday 6 December. We are really looking forward to seeing children from our feeder primary schools at their dedicated performance on Tuesday 8 December. Tickets are available from the school office. Mrs Morris has been rehearsing the school band to accompany the show and the percussion group, the steel pans group and the school orchestra continue to rehearse until Christmas, they are preparing for the Music Festival in spring.

Year Ten Drama students have completed their Road Safety improvisations as part of Global Enterprise week. They developed their own plays which were designed to educate the audience about this issue. Year 11 attended a production of Blood Brothers at the Opera House Manchester and are currently preparing for their practical exam at Christmas. Sixth form students are currently preparing a performance of Lady Windermere's Fan by Oscar Wilde.

We are hosting a Business Breakfast on Wednesday 9 December at 8.30 in our Partnership Learning Centre. Please contact Miss Taylor if you would like to be involved in our community audit that will be completed during the session. The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).

Would any parent collecting a child during the school day please report to reception where pupils will wait. Due to health and safety reasons, pupils must not wait at the gate to be collected. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Year 8 Boys Rugby v Swinton (Carnegie National Schools Cup) won 28-4.

Hockey 2nd place in Year 9 Catholic Schools tournament.

Year 7 boys football
Rochdale Schools 5-a-side champions through to the regional finals. Also they beat St Annes 9-0 in the 11 a side schools league.

Lost 3-1 to Cardinal Langley in the Quarter finals of the catholic cup.
